ANNA - GOLDSMITH AND JEWELLERY DESIGNER

Anna grew up in Sweden and has been living in Switzerland for many years. Here she trained as a Swiss goldsmith. In her studio in Zug, she creates small series in which recycled precious metals, diamonds and other gemstones that have previously been used in other pieces of jewellery receive new life. Anna also redesigns your old pieces of jewellery to create something new, merging her designs with your input and personality – for ideas see here. The better a piece of jewellery suits you and the more timeless the design, the longer you will wear it and the more sustainable the jewellery is. Redesigning that you are not using is true recycling.

Anna finds her inspiration in nature and by observing details in her surroundings, visit her Instagram for more information.

When buying precious metals, we trust the Swiss Oekogold® label.

SMALL SERIES IN RECYCLED GOLD AND SILVER

LOCAL CRAFTSMANSHIP, RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION, SUSTAINABILITY AND HIGH QUALITY

Our jewellery is designed and produced locally our studio in Zug. This way we can influence the entire creation process, making our jewellery as personal and ecological as possible. We can avoid long transport routes and more easily guarantee transparency. We cooperate with Swiss craftsmen and -women to ensure fair working conditions and high quality. Most of our jewellery is made to order, keeping our inventory low and protecting our resources. We use only recycled precious metals, diamonds and other precious stones and refrain from the use of new raw materials. In this way we can prevent further mining and can keep the ecological footprint low. We use this principle on different levels, in connection with transport, packaging, stock levels or energy consumption in the studio.

LONG LASTING JEWELLERY CAN TELL MANY STORIES

We want to give joy with our jewellery, whether in silver, gold or another precious metal, with or without precious stones and glittering diamonds; our jewellery should accompany you for a long time. The longer you wear the piece of jewellery, the more sustainable it is. Anna will be happy to design a special piece for you for any precious moment in your life:

  • engagement and wedding rings
  • celebrating an anniversary
  • or to simply to hold on to a special person or time in your life

Rings that can be worn individually or stacked are Anna’s favourites; different types of recycled gold and different gemstones can be combined in wonderful and new ways over and over.

We want you to feel welcome and are happy to answer your questions by phone, e-mail or Whatsapp.

WHY RECYCLED PRECIOUS METALS?

Making jewellery in our studio we cannot be resource-neutral. This said, we can become more sustainable bit by bit and think carefully about which materials we use. We believe recycled gold and silver to be less damaging to the environment compared to newly mined gold. We aim to start a discussion about where gold and gemstones used in the jewellery industry actually come from. Only with more information and transparency can we all make better decisions

THE JOURNEY OF A REDESIGN

The pictures below, show some of the steps involved in making a commissioned ring: A model made in brass for my customer to review, removing the diamonds from the old gold jewellery brought by my customer, melting the old gold jewellery, making the thread for the ring shank, bending the shank and soldering it together to make one eternal loop, soldering the settings to the shank.

My customer brought me her parents’ wedding rings and three diamonds from her maternal grandmother. Together we decided on the swirly design that you see on the pictures. This design, being elegant and robust at the same time will ensure that my customer can carry the ring for many years to come making it sustainable, not just because of the recycled materials, but also because of the longevity of the design.
